AA 1338 in Owosso on 8-13-1980. A great example of an Ann Arbor 40 boxcar (my favorite genre of freight car) with its large pennant long after Wabash ownership. This is from the AA 1200-1399 series 1958-delivered PS-1 boxcar, many survive today (though likely not the 1338), and there is speculation the large pennant logos were applied by Wabash during a repair, as they are non-standard. Some way or another, a deal was worked out, and they brought them with the boat. I understand the museum is currently building funds to repaint them! |
